Transformational Co-Living

Leading theme: building an environment that facilitates personal transformation goals.

Objective

Our goal is to help people self-actualise themselves and reach their highest potential. We create environments to be able to focus on oneself while being part of a community that elevates you to your highest self. By becoming part of our community, you are committing to your own transformation and to the one of others.

Our vision

We believe in self-actualisation. We are all blessed with a unique life in which we have to take pro-active action in order to fulfill ourselves. Self-actualisation is therefore key to happiness. It is our mission to live a life based on alignment between who we are and who we want to be.

We believe in the power of the collective. Ideas don’t come by themselves, but by interaction. Growth doesn’t come by itself, but by aggregating knowledge. Transformation doesn’t come by itself, but by stimulation. Being surrounded by people who have your best interest in mind and living in an environment that is optimised for personal transformation is key to self-actualisation.

We believe in combining the two. It is key to find the right balance between personal and group time, between personal and collective growth. Being in an environment with others should be stimulating and life-enhancing instead of distracting and disempowering.

This is why we create transformational co-living.

Our principles

Self comes first. We prioritise our own happiness above everything else. We believe that one has to fulfill himself first before being able to help others. We therefore focus on our own needs and help other people reach theirs.

Active caring. What differentiates an acquaintance from a friend is the active caring part. We believe that it should be our mission to pro-actively help others and offer our help.

Integrity is key. We believe that holding our words and standing to our values is key to trust. We are not there to judge breaches of integrity, but here to help overcome them and keeping each other accountable for being more honest and transparent as a person. Breaches of integrity as a pattern are not accepted to remain part of our community.

Unconditional love. We stand for accepting and loving each other in spite of our strengths and faults, commonalities and differences. We first try to understand before making a judgment. Our goal as individuals is to help each other grow.

Life balance. We want people to strive in all life areas - from professional to personal, health, social, and playfulness. We create events and environments to be stimulated in all of those, and let people choose according to their own goals what to join. Life is about living it in purest joy and in the ultimate lightness of being, and should be celebrated as such.

What to expect

During your stay

  • Goal setting and learning: setting weekly intentions (main goal / KPI), building weekly reports (learnings)
  • Accountability: groups of 5 people, one leader per group, group is self organised; weekly talk with the host on intention and planning
  • Resource sharing: group chat with questions and wins (goal achievement)
  • Group gatherings:
    • Weekly intention sharing: everyone shares their intention, everyone states their main help, potentially problem discussion and boundaries, emphasis on helping each other
    • Workshops and masterminds: self-created workshops (do-ocracy), with a whiteboard and weekly timeline; the host can encourage workshops based on demand
    • Social times: weekly breakfast (Wednesday), chosen family dinner (Sunday), social night (Saturday)

After your stay

  • Group connection: remain part of the Growth chat

Avoiding breaches

  1. Accountability through the weekly host interviews
  2. Accountability through the weekly intention and report updates
  3. Accountability through the peer to peer group
  4. Accountability through member reports to the host
  5. Accountability through attending at least one weekly event

If people fail to follow through the weekly intentions and work on their goals more than once, they will not be granted to stay in the house. Integrity and commitment is key to a trusting community.

Pricing

Room expenses

Single room pricing: 1200€ per month, or 400€ per week.

Each room has a double or two single beds. People can invite members to stay with them and share cost on the condition that the new member has been vetted and approved by the hosts.

Communal expenses

Communal expenses are shared by tribe members. Those include cleaning, toiletries, shared food (olive oil, salt, etc), water, and any additional shared items.

Members can add their expenses to the communal expenses sheet. The balance will be settled at the end of the stay.

Avoiding the tragedy of the commons

In order to avoid the tragedy of the commons, we put several house rules in place:

  1. Clean the kitchen after you used it
  2. Leave the bathroom as you found it
  3. Don’t leave your personal belongings in the common space
  4. Don’t socialise in the work area
  5. No shoes in the house
  6. Communicate on the house chat

Systems to be put in place

  1. Onboarding: welcoming document (website), agree to the manifesto (sign), onboarding questionnaire
  2. Events: Sunday intention sharing, Sunday chosen family dinner, Wednesday breakfast, Saturday social
  3. Platforms: house group (random), work group (questions and wins), weekly intention and report email
  4. Utilities: whiteboard for weekly events
  5. Personal implication: weekly 1-1 interviews by the host, groups of 5 with 1 group lead
