Life is great for many of us. We have access to food, water, education, stable income, friends, material goods, pleasure. We can change our destiny, we can decide how our life will be.
And still - most of us are miserable.
Why is that so? Why do we keep stuck in a place and can’t see beyond? Why does our vision get blurred with the dreams we have at night? I often thought it was our external conditions that got us stuck - the friends we have, the influence on us, the place we live in. But I was wrong. Nothing of it ultimately counts.
Six weeks ago, I arrived in London. I am working in one of the most promising startups of the 21st century, live in one of the most diverse and dynamic cities in the entire world and have thousands opportunities lined up in front of me to finally make my dreams come true.
Or at least, so I thought.
Because six weeks later, I am looking back - and not seeing anything. What did I do? What happened? What did I learn? How did I grow?
I can barely find any responses. And that’s not an issue. That’s a fundamental life problem.
What is the issue then? What keeps us the way we are? What keeps us so low?
I could only find one reason - it is how you deal with your emotions. We get bored, get frustrated, don’t like certain things - and just keep going. We stay in our comfort zone because it is easier to criticize than to act. We find no motivation now because we could not find any previously. And most importantly, we keep postponing the day that we will be happy.
But if that is your situation, there is only one solution - to get up and act. You know how great the world is, and still you are sitting on your couch. You see humanity’s beauty but still prefer mediocrity. You have thousand ideas but never know where to start the change.
It often starts in the head. But that is not enough. It has to continue in your actions, because if not, you will be suffocated by the discrepancy between your potential and who you actually are.
In short - GET THE HELL OUT AND DO SOMETHING!
ACCOMPLISH something. CREATE something. Be PROUD of yourself.
It doesn’t matter if you start with fixing your bathtub or learning how to flic-flac. It does not matter what you do - it just matters that you do it, that you see results, and that you build on them. The rest will follow.
So to all of you great people who one day will become leaders of the world but can’t even lead yourself - get up and act.
