About two years back, on November 11th 2018, I settled in a plane with 500€ in my bank account en route to Bali. With one goal: to live in bali in a coliving space I created.
Not long after did I realize that coliving was my path: a path to human flourishing, to pure human connection, to individual growth moments and collective learnings.
Coliving was my path to bring in the change that I wanted to see in the world: humans who are more connected to themselves, others and the world around them. Humans who gain consciousness of self, desires, needs, and fears. Humans who learn how to connect with others, communicate and hold space. Humans who develop life visions that will make them grow, not harm them.
In short, the next level of humans. The one I strive to be. And that will remain with me for a life-time.
The co-movement is only to begin. Superficial forms of the co-economy and the co-environmentalism policies are only the tipping corner of a wider change in mind. And it goes further: the co-movement is about a change in being.
Being part of the co-generation is an act of commitment to oneself that nothing can be created out of self. That the world is a reflection of self which we navigate through. That self means nothing in the context to others and that collective creation bursts faster than individual fires. That self needs to be interpreted from a collective view and that learnings are endless.
It’s a commitment to look out and inside. To look out to the world, understand how it works and how we can better interact with it. And to look inside to understand how our actions make us feel, to gain awareness and to exercise our control in choosing our reaction to the world.
Self is constructed in relationship with co.
= analyzing the co (out) + analyzing the self (inside)
Being part of the co-generation requires to live and think in terms of co.
It is a state led by key questions such as
- How does my interaction with the world shape it in return?
- Which game do I want to play in the world?
- What are my internal commitments towards myself on a daily basis?
- Why do I do what I do? Why do I do what I do? Why do I do what I do?
- How does interacting with this person trigger me?
- Where do I feel stuck in life?
- Under which circumstances do I experience much flow and joy?
- How can I put my creativity and productivity best into practice?
And the list goes on.
The co-generation has so far been defined wrongly or shallowly as Millennials but goes wider than that. It translates its presence not only through the so-called shared economy and change in mindset, but rather through three yet unexplored verticals: living, interacting, and being.
It's about connection, community, communication, and coexistence between self and the world.
